Utah Tech University

Phi Alpha Theta is a national honor society for undergraduate and graduate students and professors of history. The society has over 400,000 members, with about 9,500 new members joining each year through 970+ local chapters in all 50 states.

Phi Alpha Theta is a perfect way to get involved with your school and campus! It provides you with a great opportunity to make long-lasting friendships with students who share your interests. In addition, Phi Alpha Theta enables you to network with History Department faculty so that you can continue to hone your skills and learn of other academic opportunities. Students also have an opportunity to participate in the Phi Alpha Theta Regional Conference in Utah every spring. We are expanding our activities and we welcome ideas and suggestions from our members.

For undergraduates, membership requirements to join the Alpha Omicron Chi chapter are as follows: a minimum GPA of 3.1 in all college-level history courses, an overall GPA of 3.0, and the completion of at least four college-level history courses at the time of application. A one-time membership fee of $60 is required of all applicants. Membership is not limited to history majors.
