Matthew Bakke

Matt Bakke, JD, MA

Matt Bakke moved to Southern Utah in 2022 and began teaching at Utah Tech in 2024. Prior to moving, he spent the better part of a decade working as a criminal defense attorney in the Twin Cities, Minnesota. He currently holds law licenses in Minnesota, Utah, and the United States Supreme Court. In following his passion, Matt made a change and put his focus into history and teaching. His research interests revolve around the topics of race, gender, and sexuality in twentieth century America, primarily in women’s sport.

 

Matt is a huge sports fan who can regularly be seen courtside at Utah Tech Women’s Basketball games. He loves the Minnesota Lynx, Timberwolves, Vikings, and Wild, as well as Formula 1.
