Geoff Allen

Dr. Geoff Allen

Dr. Geoff Allen is a native of Glendale, Arizona, and began teaching at Utah Tech in 2023. Before that, he taught at the University of Utah. His doctoral work was in electoral studies, political parties, and minority representation. Currently, his research focuses on questions around democratic representation, electoral system design, and political party competition. Dr. Allen has presented or published research on electoral politics and democracy in Croatia, Slovenia, Taiwan, Germany, Japan, South Korea, and the United States, including interviews with members of the legislatures of both Taiwan and Croatia.

Outside of political science, he is an avid fan of the Phoenix Suns. Dr. Allen reads and collects history and science fiction books.
